\"Halcyon\"<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"e-52ebb1d-dfb886e e-paragraph-base e-default-p\" data-interaction-id=\"52ebb1d\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-id=\"52ebb1d\">This summer, I have been working on developing patches with my modular synth that are based around a concept called 'ambient generative', which is akin to programming an evolving piece of music and allowing the synthesiser to iterate new patterns with no human interaction.<br><br>The piece in the video above is called 'Halcyon', and was created by patching the modules and then allowed to run for a full 35 minutes, evolving at it's own pace based on random interactions of voltages and utilising patching that exploits several non-standard patterns which evolve and interact slowly.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n<div e-paragraph-base e-default-p\" data-interaction-id=\"6868ec8\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-id=\"6868ec8\">In April 2026 I performed a live interactive sound piece at Play Office, Portsmouth, and gave a talk about my work alongside visiting international artists.<br><br>Using a modular synthesiser connected to an Xbox Kinect camera, I created a live ambient performance that responded in real time to the movement of people in the room. The audience became part of the instrument, their bodies shaping the sound as they moved through the space. The track is a single unedited take \u2014 six minutes of live improvisation with no overdubs or post-production, capturing the instrument's capacity for spontaneous compositional development in real time.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7a3fc6b elementor-widget elementor-widget-html\" data-id=\"7a3fc6b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"html.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<!--\n  Minimal self-hosted audio player\n  ------------------------------------\n  How to use:\n  1. e-paragraph-base e-default-p\" data-interaction-id=\"ea33928\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-id=\"ea33928\">In 2025 I filmed a series of experiments working with my modular synthesiser, creating evolving generative pieces that develop random evolutions over hours through internal processes alone, and playing live along with this as a duet between a random instrument and live play.<br><br>The work explores how sound systems can behave autonomously and how we can interact with randomness, producing music that is simultaneously composed and discovered.&nbsp;The video below outlines some of
